At a time many final yer students in the nations secondary schools are scared of computer based examinations(CBT) due to a perceived notion of poor
knowledge of the computer. This novel mode of examination is fast gauning ground among primary schools pupils in Lagos state.
This trend was demonstrated last Saturday during thus year's common entrance examination conducted by the state government for pupils seeking admission into its model colleges and upgraded secondary schools across the state.
In the exam held across the 20 local government areas of the state,no fewer than 54 canfidates sat for the CBT mode at the only designated centre within the state examination board premises at iyana-ipaja area while the rest 10, 235 did the conventional paper and pencil test(PPT)format.
Lat year ,it wad only 17 candidates that chose the CBT mode, then a pilot scheme . with this development,CBT has recorded 218 per cent increment of candidates within one year and stakeholders describe the development as a significant improvement and a bug plus for Lagos State as the first state in the country to adopt the system at the primary school level.
