Residents in Lagos protest over rape assault and killing of a Ghanaian

The rape and killing of a Ghanaian
named Grace Obinna, by a man called
Badoo, has caused widespread protest in
Oke Ota community in the Ibeshe,
Ikorodu, Lagos State.  Mainevibez
Punch reports that Badoo has also committed
the act with two other women in the
Ilemeren, Abule, Oluwoye, Ibeshe Titun
communities.
Badoo enter the victim’s room on Sunday,
June 2, 2016, when her husband had gone
out. This was his most recent attack
according to reports.
Obinna was hit on the head with some
weapons according to reports.

Pastor Abayomi Adelakun , the Chairman of
the landlords’ association, in the area said
the suspect had tried to rape some old
women in the neighbourhood.
“Two weeks ago, he came to Oke Ota and
attacked an 86-year-old grandma. He
attempted to rape her, but when she resisted,
he injured her in the nose.”
“The woman was rushed to a hospital. She
survived the attack.”
“On Sunday, around 1am, I was called by a
security man that Badoo had raped and
brutalised Grace (Obinna), who was a
teacher with a nine-month-old baby.”
“When we got to the scene, I could not
recognise the lady again. All her teeth had
been removed; she was in a pool of blood.
She was rejected at two hospitals, but
confirmed dead at LASUTH.
“Badoo forces himself into women’s rooms,
rapes and brutalises them if they resist. He
was doing that in neighbouring communities
and has now come to Oke Ota.”
The Lagos State Police Command has begun
investigations into the matter. This was
confirmed by the Police Public Relations
Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos.
