REPS DEFINE OBASANJO AS FATHER OF CORRUPTION

REps slam obasanjo

The House spokesman, Abdulrazak Namdas  addressing a press conference on Thursday, November 24, accused Obasanjo of being a mischief maker and a life time opposition leader, who blackmails every government that he is not part of, Daily Trust reports.
READ ALSO>>3-rep-lawmakers-arrested-over-sex scandal
Namdas alleged that the former leader is effectively plotting to derail the government of Muhammadu Buhari in the same manner he allegedly did to successive presidents since 1979.
"It is unfortunate that he has started his very familiar method of bringing down governments. He did it to Alhaji Shehu Shagari, he did it to Gen. Buhari, he did same to Gen. Babangida, he attempted to bring down Gen. Abacha before he imprisoned him for treason; he made frantic efforts to derail the government of President Ya’ardua when he couldn’t use him.

"He supported President Goodluck Jonathan but when he refused to take dictation, he turned against him. He supported President Buhari, but since he has sensed that Nigeria is having economic difficulties under him, he has pounced to derail his government
.
"The way Chief Obasanjo talks gives the impression that he is a lifetime opposition leader who has never held any office. What did he do about the issues he raised in his 8 years as President?
"We have repeatedly maintained that there was no “padding” of the 2016 Appropriation Act, which is a legitimate document passed by the National Assembly, authenticated by the Clerk to the National Assembly as provided in the Acts Authentication Act and assented to by Mr. President.
"It is most unfortunate that a former President of Chief Obasanjo’s stature would allow himself to be hoodwinked and procured by a renegade member of the House, who embarked on massive propaganda and lies just because he was removed from office," Namdas  said.

One of the Presidential jet which was recently handed over to the Nigerian Air Force, Agusta AW 101, a medium-lift helicopter specially designed for military operations, has crashed at the Nigerian Air Force base, Makurdi.
The crash is coming two months after President Muhammadu Buhari handed over two  over the two ballistics defence capable aircraft from the Presidential fleet to the Nigerian Air Force
According to a report by naij.com, the jet crashed due to poor training of crew members saddled to man the operations of the aircraft.
After the handover, the aircraft was repainted from the initial white and green to camouflage.
A source told the news website that damages to the jet were significant but no life was lost to the crash.
“No fatality but significant damage to aircraft considering the fact that they hardly do insurance in the military.  The flight engineer was injured.”

The aircraft, Agusta AW101, which is a large armoured helicopter cost about $21million each (N10.5billion) making it 130% more expensive than the average aircraft of its class.
But the Nigerian Air Force, PRO, Group Captain Dele Famuyiwa, has denied the report that one of the aircraft crashed.
“It was not a crash. I wouldn’t call it a crash because it just fell on the ground in Makurdi.

“I can say maybe it was an incident. You know accident is a higher degree of incidence. It was just an occurrence that did not take any life or equipment. Cars can malfunction and the same thing with any machine.”
He said the crash was not as a result of low training and skill of crew member noting that the same crew had managed the aircraft at the presidency

On challenges she faced for choosing acting as a career, she said:
Life is full of challenges and I encountered so many obstacles when I started acting. Firstly, my father was not happy that I became an actress. When he discovered, he was very angry because he thought I would get a proper job. Besides, nobody in my father’s family had ever become an actress. Most of them were doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. My father and my stepmother did not support me and they tried to frustrate my ambition. At some point, he asked me to move out of his house if I was bent on becoming an actress. I went to live with my mum and even though she was not happy at what I had decided to do with my life, she did not fail to support me. Another challenge I faced was the poor remuneration. There were times when I was not even paid at all but I did not allow that to discourage me because of the passion I have for the job.

Tinubu-Oyegun and 8 other APC politicians Battles

Everyone is trying to stay relevant and those who are not getting their way are not finding it funny. Some feel they have been relegated to the background. The struggle for who controls what, who should be obeyed, who gets to choose what happens in the party, is threatening to tear the ruling party apart. From the look of things the stage is set for a titanic battle if nothing is done quickly. Below are some APC chieftains who are at war with each other.

 1. Tinubu-Buhari feud Share on Facebook Share on Twitter

tinubu
There have been several reports of a boiling feud between President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the APC. Apparently, those loyal to Tinubu are not happy with the how he is being treated by power brokers in Aso Villa after playing a crucial role in the formation of the APC and Buhari’s coming to power.

There have been rumours that he is planning to break away from the ruling party and float a new party because his position in the party has been relegated to the background. On Saturday, November 12, a rally was organised in Lagos in support of Tinubu. Before the 2015 general elections which brought Buhari to power, Tinubu used to be at almost every party event, but these days, he is hardly seen mingling with party members. At the moment, he is abroad.

 2. Tinubu-Oyegun feud Share on Facebook Share on Twitter
tinubu
The war between Tinubu and the APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, started with the Ondo state governorship primaries. Rotimi Akeredolu, who allegedly got the blessings of some APC leaders led by Odigie-Oyegun and some ministers, won the primaries against the wishes of some party. He defeated Segun Abraham, the alleged preferred candidate of Tinubu.
After the primaries, Tinubu called on the party’s national chairman to resign alleging that he subverted the will of the people. In response, Odigie-Oyegun described the allegations against him as baseless and reckless. On October 4
, he took his grievance to President Buhari. According to him, there was no rift between them but a difference of opinion. “There is no rift with Asiwaju. We have difference of opinions, difference of perception and I think that is normal. Yes, I agree that the nature of the (Tinubu’s) statement was a bit harsh,” he said

. 3. Atiku-El-Rufai feud Share on Facebook Share on Twitter
When we thought we have had it all, former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Governor Nasir El-Rufai decided to give Nigerians something to talk about. In a recent interview, Atiku claimed that he was betrayed by El-Rufai. This was in response to a question on a El-Rufai’s book, “Accidental Public Servant” which portrays him as a very corrupt person.
“Did he give any evidence or prove where I was corrupt? Again this is the same el-Rufai whom I was instrumental in bringing into government and making him Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, and eventually a minister.

You also forgot that it was the same el-Rufai and Nuhu that my boss used in cooking up the indictment that was eventually thrown out. So, where is the evidence of corruption?” he queried. In a swift reaction, the Kaduna state governor described Atiku as a liar who was “haunted by his corruption demons.

” 4. Jibrin-Dogara feud Share on Facebook Share on Twitter On July 20,
Dogara and jibrin
Abdulmumin Jibrin was removed as the chairman of the committee on appropriation by Yakubu Dogara, the speaker of the House of Representatives. Jibrin’s removal did not go down well with him as he started to open up can of worms. He accused Dogara and other principal officers of the house of padding the 2016 budget and corruption. The scandal was getting too messy that the APC, in a letter dated August 4, asked him to stop making public statements regarding the budget padding scandal. But, it seems nothing can stop Jibrin from attacking Dogara as he has vowed not to rest until justice is served. Dogara has since said he is ready to be probed by anti-graft agencies.

 5. Senator Sani and El-Rufai Share on Facebook Share on Twitter
sani bello

There seems to be no love lost between Governor El-Rufai and Senator Shehu Sani.
Both men are from the same state and belong to the same party but they are always at logger heads. Sani has been very outspoken, criticizing some of Governor El-Rufai’s policies which he considers anti-masses. When El-Rufai said ‘the PDP has destroyed Nigeria for 16 years’, Sani quickly tackled him, saying he had no moral justification to point accusing fingers. According to him, the Kaduna governor was part of Nigeria’s problems because he benefited from the party for 14 years out of the 16 years of the party’s reign and so he could not claim to be innocent. In December 2015, the senator was suspended for 11 months and also banned from engaging in party activities in the state during this period. His offence was that he was engaging in anti-party activities by criticizing the policies of Governor Nasir El-Rufai. His suspension was later described as invalid, null and void and not binding by the national body of the APC.
